Start in the parking lot.
What a profound (and literal) lesson we have on today’s episode. In 2012, Burn Boot Camp started in the parking lot because they couldn’t get funding or credit to get a building. Fast forward 10 years and they now have 300+ franchises in 40 different states…all because they took that first step.
Before they had a building, they had a vision and a mission. Nothing was stopping them from living it out.
Be confident in what you have to bring to the table, take action every day, be consistent, stay grounded…even if no one else sees it or believes in you.
Don’t get stuck. Keep moving forward.

The biggest take-aways from today’s episode are:
- Imperfect action is better than no action. If you can make people feel welcome and valued, they’ll be a customer for life. Experience will trump the imperfections that you think are present. Just get started.
- Stop comparing yourself to what you’re seeing on social media. Comparison is the thief of joy. Don’t worry about your competition. If you’re constantly looking from the left to the right, you aren’t focused on what’s ahead of you. Put the blinders up and focus on the finish line.
- Failure is fuel. Problems will always exist no matter what. There is never a time where you arrive in your life or business and the problems disappear. They will always exist. They may just look different at different stages. Use the problems as an opportunity to build a solution.
One last parting piece of wisdom from Morgan…start in the parking lot. You don’t need to have it all figured out to start. Just start where you’re at and keep learning and growing even through what we deem as failures.
