“What if I fail?”
“What if I don’t?”
“What if I actually showed up?”
“What will people think?”
“What will people say?”
I hear these kinds of questions all the time and it all boils down to one thought, “I’m afraid.”
Fear gets in the way of so many decisions, actions, and plans.
It keeps us from living out our calling and purpose.
It keeps us from reaching the people we’re supposed to be showing up for and serving.
It doesn’t have to stay that way though!
In this week’s episode of the Epic Success Podcast, I talk with Jennifer Allwood about the reality of fear and the power we have to overcome it!
Jennifer Allwood started in the DIY world and has now taken that passion and turned it around to teach other people and creatives how to turn their creative hobbies into lucrative online businesses.
She teaches that “Fear Is Not The Boss Of You!”

It doesn’t have to be!

- “Oftentimes, we find ourselves fighting what we know we’re supposed to be doing because it’s hard or scary.”
“I don’t know” is such a common phrase that people use…. The truth is that we usually know exactly what we’re supposed to do, but we get in our own heads and let fear have a say in our decision making. We have to acknowledge fear, say no to it and then create the thoughts that will lead us to the reality we want to have! [7:36]
- “We’re all afraid and feel fear at times, but we have to recognize and be aware of the internal voice that is telling us to stay afraid.”
Feelings are normal and expected and it’s healthy to feel those feelings. We just have to recognize where those feelings and emotions are coming from… Our thoughts. And we have to be actively aware of those thoughts and rewiring them so we can create the life we want to have. [9:20]
- “I think fear of success, fear of failure, fear of being found out is what keeps people from living out their calling and purpose.”
We as people, struggle with failure and comparison. And if you’re a creative person, we struggle with measuring our value based on the money we receive or the sales we make. That keeps us in bondage. I’m not saying that you aren’t going to feel fear, you will. It’s a part of life. I’m saying that you have the power to rise above it, change the way you think, and work through the fear to have the reality you want. [12:18]
Fear does not have to paralyze you! You have the power and ability to rise up and change the way you think about your fear.
You have the ability to create your thoughts to create the reality you want. And you can start now!
